Dave Bradley Mix

Hey all,

Heres a little post on upcoming dub n dnb dj Dave Bradley, if you get a chance grab his mix and take a listen! He has played a few of our 666 nights and also won our DJ Comp!!

My name is Dave Bradley aka "My Mate Dave," I am from Maidstone, Kent and I have been djing for about 3/4 years now. I grew up listening to a lot of rock, blues, funk and jazz and took heavy influence from the greats of Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and John Coltrane. I then moved onto Oldskool and funky hip hop as well as trip hop and downtempo music. This is where I learnt about the importance of a DJ and the art of turntablism from the likes of J5, DJ Shadow and the DMC scene.


I was purely a hip hop dj for about a year or so until I started playing a bit of drum & bass, electro house and then later came the DUBSTEP! After a few months of exploring dubstep I was hooked for life. Id never heard a genre before with such wide boundaries and influences from all my other music interests. The more I play dubstep the more I want dubstep, whether it’s deep, clubby, new ravey, electro, techy or glitchy. And the more I hear dubstep the more it pushes my Drum & bass interest, with artists such as Nero and Chase & Status crossing over between the two. You can catch me playing dubstep, drum & bass and hip hop around Maidstone venues such as The Source Bar, The Loft and UCA.
